Curl Shampoo
Most shampoos treat everything on your hair the same, so they strip away build‑up and the natural oils protecting your curls in one hit. That’s why hair can feel squeaky clean and bone dry at the same time.
Ours is built to target the film of old product and daily residue, while respecting the natural moisture your curls need to stay flexible. Onion bulb extract, rosemary, ginger and chestnut rose support a fresh, clean‑feeling scalp so your roots feel light, not stripped.
And the smell? Handled. Rosemary, ginger and chestnut rose do the talking — you’d never know the onion was in there.
Curl Conditioner
Your scalp’s natural oils struggle to travel down a curved strand. Straight hair gets coated to the tips, but every bend in a curl slows those oils down — most never reach your lengths and ends.
So this conditioner makes the delivery instead. Shea butter and castor oil wrap the hair in rich moisture, while jojoba (chemically similar to your own scalp’s oils) helps replenish what your ends are missing. The result: softer, smoother curls that don’t need a full arm workout to detangle.
Built because our curl community asked.
This launch is a small first batch of 500 Curl Shampoo & Conditioner packs — made after three rounds of testing and side‑by‑side comparison against more than 20 other shampoos and conditioners.
Over 60,000 curl customers have used our kits and products and their number one request has been the same: “What shampoo and conditioner should I use with this?”
So we built the wash‑day pair they kept asking for, and held it to the same standard. Today we sit at a 4.4★ rating from 571 verified reviews on the Shop app, and we plan to continue this the same way: listen, improve, repeat.

Support for healthier feeling roots
Onion bulb extract is rich in sulfur, a key building block of keratin – the protein your hair is made from. Onion is used to support stronger‑feeling, more resilient hair over time. Rosemary boosts scalp circulation, ginger soothes irritation and chestnut rose helps to protect hair from everyday damage.
Skips the usual curl‑wreckers
We avoided the usual trio that make curls rebel: harsh sulfates, heavy silicones and drying alcohols. Instead, the base of both formulas is built from curl‑safe fatty alcohols and milder cleansers, so they play nicely with your existing curl routine instead of undoing it.
Focuses care where hair is most damaged
Damaged sections of the hair fibres are negatively charged and attract our positively-charged conditioning agents. By combining these with Keratin and amino acids hair gets repaired where its needed most. That means the areas that have been through the most heat, colour or brushing get the most support each wash, instead of treating every strand the same.
Soft, conditioned curls that don’t collapse under product
Aloe vera, Pro‑Vitamin B5 and sodium lactate help hair hold on to moisture, while shea butter, jojoba and castor oil add slip and softness. Shea butter softens, jojoba behaves similarly to your scalp’s own natural oils, and castor oil — the same oil our Curl Cream is known for — smooths the cuticle and helps lock moisture in. Together they leave curl clumps soft and ready for styling, without the heavy, waxy feel some masks can leave behind.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will it work on my fine or wavy hair?
Will it work on my fine or wavy hair?
Yes — it’s made for wavy and curly hair (types 2A–4C). The shampoo focuses on your scalp, and the conditioner is applied mid‑lengths to ends, so fine and wavy hair isn’t weighed down at the roots. If your hair is easily weighed down, start with a smaller amount of conditioner and rinse thoroughly.
Does the shampoo smell like onion?
Does the shampoo smell like onion?
No — we tested this thoroughly. The scent comes from rosemary, ginger and chestnut rose. We've taken the key actives from the onion bulb and left out the smells.

I’m in my 50s, 60s or beyond and my hair has changed — is this for me?
Yes. Many of our customers come back to their curls later in life, or notice their hair feels drier and more fragile than it used to. This pair is built for that: a gentle scalp‑first shampoo and a conditioner with keratin, amino acids and rich oils to put softness back. It won't magically bring back curls or colour that wasn't there, but it works great with what you naturally have (especially on fine, grey and mixed‑texture curls)

I have a sensitive scalp or allergies — how do I check what’s in it?
Both full ingredient lists are published word-for-word in the ‘Full Ingredients’ drop-down at the top of this page — nothing hidden. Both formulas are sulfate-free, silicone-free and free from drying alcohols. If you have a known allergy or sensitivity, please read the full list before buying. If you’d like us to double‑check something, reach out to our support team.
Is it safe for colour‑treated, chemically processed or permed hair?
Is it safe for colour‑treated, chemically processed or permed hair?
Yes. There are no sulfates or harsh “reset” detergents, and the conditioner includes hydrolysed keratin, amino acids and oils that are well‑suited to hair that’s been coloured, lightened, relaxed or permed. As with any chemically treated hair, avoid very hot water and be extra gentle when detangling to keep your colour, curl pattern and perm looking their best.

How often should I wash?
How often should I wash?
There’s no one right answer — most curly routines land between one and three washes a week, depending on how quickly your scalp gets oily. Because the shampoo is gentle rather than stripping, you can wash as often as your scalp needs. In between, a water refresh with a little Curl Cream, Styling Gel keeps day-2 and day-3 curls going.
